Kristi Beunder is a project manager, senior planner, community planning specialist, community designer and the founder of Township Planning + Design Inc, an urban and rural planning professional organization. Kristi has been practicing in the Calgary region since 1993.

Kristi's career's primary focus has been in service to private developers, but she has a background in the public sector as a planner for several municipalities. As a result, she offers her clients a rich experience and knowledge in municipal land development and policy matters, as well as private sector land use planning approvals.

Kristi has been the project manager and lead planner for numerous complex land development projects (i.e. - The Lake at Heritage Pointe, Artesia, Hawks Landing at Priddis Greens, Warner Business Park, The Jake in Bowness, The Ricardo Ranch Area Structure Plan, The Spruce Meadows Area Structure Plan). She brings an unparalleled level of expertise, insight, and sensitivity to each project. Kristi seeks out creative and achievable solutions to all planning challenges. She takes pride in her mature partnerships within the land development industry, including engineering, surveying, environmental science and construction firms.

Kristi frequently lectures at the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at the University of Calgary providing an overview of the Planning Profession to all incoming graduate students and delivering an annual Planning Law lecture.

Kristi is an effective communicator who crafts a unique approach for each stakeholder, public engagement session and approving authority. She is a qualified expert witness at the Municipal Government Board, The Alberta Energy Resources Conservation Board, and the Court of Queen's Bench. In 2005 Kristi was awarded an Alberta Centennial Medal for outstanding contribution to her community.

In January 2019 Kristi was appointed as a Member of Calgary's Subdivision and Development Appeal Board.
